Suitable Unveils New Employer Platform
PITTSBURGH—Suitable, a Pittsburgh-based education technology startup, announced a collaboration with 17 Fortune 5000 companies to help college students build professional skills outside the classroom and better prepare them for internships and entry-level jobs. DICK’S Sporting Goods is one of 16 Suitable partners that are joining in the new employer platform to help students by giving them more guidance around professional development.
Suitable is aligning what students do outside of the classroom with the expectations of the professional world to help them graduate on the right career path by working together with universities, corporate partners, and students. The data-driven platform allows corporate partners to establish relationships earlier on in a student’s career and scope out students who are most dedicated to their career goals. Suitable does this by allowing students to track their co-curricular activities throughout their college career and providing recruiters with access to data about students who are completing their activities.
“By engaging students early, we can establish ourselves as an employer-of-choice and offer career advice that can help students become stronger professional candidates,” said Brooks Renoll, Manager of University Relations, DICK’S Sporting Goods. “Suitable will be a great partnering in helping us develop key relationships with students early in their academic careers.”
Suitable gained traction quickly among undergraduate business schools, signing on University of Pittsburgh Business School, Community College of Allegheny County’s Business and Accounting Program, Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business, and Penn State Behrend’s Black School of Business. With a recently updated commercial platform, Suitable continues to gain attention from universities nationwide by helping the school’s structure co-curricular learning programs for their students.
